We are Duet, a duo devoted to creating timeless interior outcomes, evolved from transparent and fruitful connections. Together we specialise in design solutions that compose a duet between aspiration and nostalgia. There are no quick fixes; just solid, joyous, longhand interiors.
The Duo
An interiors studio founded by Dominique Brammah and Shannon Shlom, We Are Duet captures the harmony of their design partnership and all it represents. By qualification, Dominique holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Sydney and Shannon holds a masters of Interior Architecture from UNSW. Both have found their metier in residential interior design.
It’s a dialogue between Dominique and Shannon that explores the light and shade of design. The yin and yang. The dualities and contrasts. Their work represents rapture and vigour, with an aesthetic that is as much about variation as it is about harmony. Herein lies the magic of the Duet.
Duet is open, responsive and flexible in our approach to residential and commercial projects, taking the time to really get to know and understand the complexities of our clients’ needs and the fluidity of the process. In essence, we are there from the first idea right through to the execution of the very last.
Our projects are a true collaboration based on respect and trust, and they always embody the desires and requirements of the client. We take into account how someone might want to feel in a space and we consider how to evoke joyful moments in every project. We delve into the routines, rituals and ceremonies that are part of the family fabric, because engaging with and within a space takes place at a deeper level than function alone.
Our clients are profoundly generous, entrusting us to create a backdrop for life with those they love most. The human experience is at the centre of all we do. We imagine how our clients might interact with a space, prioritising wellbeing and closeness. We create homes that nurture and delight, are comfortable and calming whilst also stimulating and energising.
A Duet project is driven by colour, pattern and texture. We create layers where nothing has been left to chance and everything has been anticipated. We celebrate the theatrical alongside the humble and our aesthetic is robust, vibrant and tactile.
